Jury Term
The term for jurors chosen for jury duty in Park County Justice Court will last one year, from July 1st through June 30th. Names are randomly drawn from a pool of Park County residents from Motor Vehicle registrations, registered voters, and those with a Montana ID card or a Montana driver's license.
I Received a Jury Summons, What do I do know?
After receiving a jury summons the juror MUST call into the court at 406-222-4170 within 24 hours.
The questionnaire form must be completed in its entirety and mailed or dropped of to the Park County Justice Court clerks within 7 days.
Excusals
- If you are requesting excusal from serving as a juror for the trial or permanently, you must complete excusal form.
- If you are requesting an excusal for medical reasons, you will need to provide a doctor's excuse and complete the excusal form.
- If you need to be excused for a short period of time, such as a planned vacation, we are able to make accommodations during those times, please list them on the excusal form.
- If you no longer live in Park County fill out the excusal form and indicating when you moved and county/state you now reside.
All excusal forms will need to turned into Park County Justice Court along with the filled out questionnaire to be reviewed by the Justice of the Peace.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: You are NOT excused unless you receive a verbal reply.
Juror Pay
- Park County jurors are paid $12.00 for appearing for jury selection and $25.00 per day for service on a jury panel, in addition to mileage. Mileage is paid at the state rate per mile from your home to the Park County Courthouse.
- We try our best to have payments mailed out approximately two(2) weeks after the conclusion of the trial.
