Rural Improvement Districts (RIDs) are citizen-initiated special improvement districts created outside of the limits of incorporated cities and towns. These RIDs are funded by an additional tax on residents within the district. The districts may be created for the purpose of building, constructing, or maintaining a wide variety of improvements such as sidewalks, roads, water, sewer, storm drain and other utility infrastructure sytems, parks, and recreational facilities. For a complete list of the types of improvements RIDs may be created for Click Here. If you are interested in creating an RID for where you live, please contact the Park County Planning Department staff.
